Jacob ('V')

The film New Moon (A follow on from the film Twilight) was released in November 2009, breaking a block buster record for most views of a new a release in its first weekend. Staring a lot of popular characters including male stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner known for there large female fan base.  This was an exciting experience as the first film twilight gained such a large audience in such a short space of time, the movie made a much larger profit then expected as it was in fact a low budget film leaving new moon with a larger budget.  You are able to notice a great difference in not old the filming techniques but the locations, scenery and special effects that create this spectacular movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film as I am one of millions of fans of the series. The story line not only develops with plenty of twists and unexpected occurrences, I think the higher budget has enabled the project to be taken to a new level. The drama of the film keeps you interested from start too finish with excellent man candy to stare at! My favourite part of film is when a new love arises between two main characters Bella and Jacob, however it gets exciting when the return of Edward creates friction between Bella and her two loves who are great enemies. The ending leaves you questioning the rest of the storyline which I think is unfortunate for those who have read the books and know what happens next.

Twilight is a new film series that has been brought out in 2008 based upon the books written by Stephanie Meyer. The film stars some unfamiliar characters including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who play the roles of a vampire and a young girl. The film takes you through the discovery of vampires after Bella (Stewart) moves home to a small town called Forks and meets Edward Cullen (Pattinson) and his unusual family, who call them selves’ vegetarians as they only feed off of the blood animals. The pair fall deeply in love, but are faced with difficulty due to Edwards’s lust for Bella’s blood. Several complications arise with unfortunate encounters with a separate coven of vampires who feed off of the blood of humans, at which point a dangerous chase begins for which Edwards and his family must protect Bella.

I am a tremendous fan of Twilight but have only studied the film, which is a variation from the book. I think the acting and production of the movie is superb with a fantastic story line that leaves you begging for more. I enjoy the facts that the actors are unfamiliar as it allows the story to appear more realistic. I feel so strongly towards twilight as the love for the two main characters feels so strong even from an observer’s perspective. I enjoy the mystery the story tells and the questions that are placed into your head throughout. The action in the film is basic yet entertaining, and for a low budget film I think they have some compelling cinematography.

I love Rhino! :D

Bolt is an animated film recently released which is about a small white dog that was adopted by a young girl call Penny. Bolt has been brought up to believe that he is living the life of a super dog and must always protect his person (Penny) from the evil green eyed man, who has captured penny’s father to retrieve information. Bolt escapes from the recording film studio and realises he is an ordinary dog yet is on a mission to get back to Penny. Bolt takes a cat hostage as he is led to believe by some pigeons that she knows where Penny is, at this point the story gets very comical as Mittens the cat plays along with Bolts belief of being a super dog. Eventually Mittens trains him to be an ordinary dog which is in many ways backwards but the highlight of the film.

I found the film Extremely exciting with no dull moments. When the action was lacking you were provided with excess comedy of a basic level, so you were always able to keep up with the jokes which was fantastic for the target audience. The characters had their own spontaneous way about them which made each section of the film unpredictable and highly amusing. My favourite character was Rhino the hamster as I found his energy was relayed onto you as the viewer, and made you want to join in with the action. The film was upbeat despite there being some upsetting moments you always had hope for the usual happy ending.

The film is in colour!!

The Film was brought out in 1998 with several important actors and actresses including John Cleese, most well known for his comedy roles in the Monty Python films and Jamie Lee Curtis being another main actress who in previous years was well thought of as femme fatal. The film is about a group of people who rob a bank but during the process come across several problems, the group do not trust each other and all try to undermine one and other to keep the stolen goods for themselves. Jamie Lee Curtis who plays the main character Wanda is the criminal mastermind behind the story, she is able to stay friends with all of the characters and use her female charm in order to retrieve information and eventually gain hold of the stolen goods.

After watching this film I was extremely disappointed as I was expecting more of a comical outcome. I was exceptionally pleased with the story line as the people and relationships were constantly changing, however I found the jokes to be directed at a certain audience criteria rather then like comedies made today which are more open to a wider range of people. I found the acting to be quite simple which meant my attention to the film tended to divert quite often making it difficult for me to follow the story line. I would not recommend this film to another person unless I felt it suited their age group and taste as I did not personally enjoy it myself.

:D

The Fast and Furious 4 was released in 2009 as a Universal picture and was directed by Justin Lin. staring a wide range of popular celebrities including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster also featured in The Fast and the Furious which was the first film released of the series.  The film is an action packed thriller with lots of stunts and special effects. The story line to the film follows on from the film The Fast and The Furious. Dom (Vin Diesel) sets out to find the killer of his true love who was murdered, unfortunately to find this person he has to pass a certain amount of tests involving car racing and illegal drug transportation to gain respect and a job from a gang leader who the killer worked for.

I found the film to be breath taking in certain areas with the special effects keeping my eyes glued to the screen. The quality of the picture was immense and the stunts the actors and stunt doubles pulled, made the film very memorable. The acting from the stars was superb, I extremely enjoyed every minute especially with the variety of cars that they including within the picture. The colours and scenery made the film even more fascinating as a summery location was made to appear dark and mysterious when things went wrong. I enjoyed the spectacular sounds that they were able to include within the film not only from musical tracks they had chosen but the roar of each individual engine was captured to perfection.

Megan Fox

Jennifer’s Body was recently released at cinema staring Megan Fox as the main character. The film is about a young girl Jennifer (Fox) who gets sacrificed to the devil by a small town band in order to gain wealth.  Unfortunately as Jennifer was not a pure virgin, she inhabited a Demon who feeds off of the organs of boys in order to stay strong, however she turns on her best friend ‘Needy’ who she is very jealous of by attacking Needys’ boyfriend who sadly dies. The only way to get rid of the demon is to stab them in the heart, but this kills her best friend to. The outcome of the story is some of the demons powers were transferred into needy during the kill which, allows her to escape from the prison she was put in for the murder.

I really enjoyed the film as I thought it was a comical horror. I was pleased with Megan Fox being the main character (Jennifer) as I feel she ticks all of the right female boxes to play this role, not only with her appearance but with her acting abilities. I do feel the film was sold due to the fact that Megan Fox was the main start and plays an extremely messed up slutty role. The film did have a lot of dull moments, but all in all I enjoyed the humour that was incorporated as well as some of the entertaining slang words that were used. I definitely feel the film was aimed at a young teenage audience which suited me.
